Day By Day
Day 1 of Tanzania Northern Circuit Safari: Drive to Tarangire National Park
You will be met by your private guide and vehicle at the hotel in Arusha, in the morning and driven to Tarangire National Park, arriving with plenty of time for an afternoon game-drive.
The Tarangire River runs through the park attracting a huge number of elephants, buffalo, giraffe and antelope, particularly in the dry season between June and October. It is not uncommon to see large herds of elephants roaming through Tarangire’s savannah grasses or taking shade under the odd looking “upside down trees” (baobab) that is dotted around the park.
The park also boasts over 550 different bird species, the most diverse in Africa, including the Kori bustard, the heaviest flying bird in the world!

Another day exploring the Serengeti around the central and eastern side.
Be one of only a few fortunate people to glide in a hot air balloon over the Serengeti Plains (available at supplementary cost by pre-arrangement $550 per adult). Floating silently above the awakening bush, while spotting wildlife and enjoying the amazing scenery of the Serengeti.
Do an after-breakfast game viewing drive along the Sogore River Circuit, which loops into the plains south of the Seronera River, and which is good for possible lion, Thomson gazelle, topi, ostrich and cheetah sightings. The Visitor Centre close to the Serengeti Seronera Lodge and public campsites is well worth a visit after the morning’s game drive.
This nicely designed center offers some interesting wildlife displays as well as a gift shop selling information leaflets and maps of the area. In the afternoon you will follow the Kopjes Circuit, which goes anti-clockwise around the Maasai Kopjes, which usually attracts a number of lion and leopard.
Arrive on evening at the camp followed with a nice sunset view, dinner and overnight at the same accommodation above.

About 20kms across, 600 meters deep and 300 sq km in area, the Ngorongoro Crater is a breathtaking natural wonder.
